Winner Regional Healthcare Center has been providing chemotherapy treatments for our cancer patients for several years. 
Chemotherapy is used to cure, control and relieve symptoms of cancer. Different factors will determine what kind of chemotherapy you receive, including your cancer diagnosis, what part of the body the cancer is found, the effect of cancer on normal body functions and your overall health.
Patients are referred to Winner Regional by an oncologist, a doctor that specializes in the treatment of cancer.
Once you are admitted to our Outpatient Department, you will be assisted by one of our four Oncology Nursing Society-certified nurses with your treatment. These registered nurses have received specialized training so they can best meet the special needs of our chemo patients. They, along with Pharmacist Marla Hayes, oversee the mixing of the drugs and the administration of the treatment.
Winner Regional has been administering chemotherapy for several years but added Oncologist John Robinson to our Outreach staff in May 2004.
Some patients prefer to have chemo alone; others wish to have a friend or family member along during the treatment. At any rate, your privacy and comfort are always top priorities at Winner Regional.
Patients can utilize a specialized Family Room here at Winner Regional
. It's equipped with a loveseat, a recliner, a fridge and a microwave so that our patients can have the ease and comfort that they're accustomed to at home. Meals are also available here from our Dietary department. Chemotherapy can be administered in our Outpatient Department or on the nursing floor of the hospital.
Winner Regional is proud to have Oncologist Dr. John Robinson on our Outreach Staff. However, if your oncologist is from out of town, inquire about the feasibility of having some or all of your chemotherapy treatments here at Winner Regional.
