About the Foundation

The primary function of the Winner Regional Health and Wellness Foundation is to raise funds to assist in enhancing and increasing healthcare services for those served by Winner Regional Health. The Foundation was founded in January 1991, initially organized to raise financial support to aid the hospital in its need to remodel and expand. Funds raised are utilized to support physician recruitment efforts, purchase necessary equipment to enhance the scope of our services, and address facility remodeling or expansion needs.

The Foundation is separate from Winner Regional Health. It has its own local Board of Directors who decides on how to best use the assets of the Foundation to support the Foundation’s mission. This Board meets monthly to discuss issues pertaining to the Foundation and its relationship with Winner Regional Health.

Our Mission

“To support Winner Regional Health in providing high quality healthcare services with the collaboration of our rural communities.”

What has the Foundation done for local healthcare?

The Foundation assisted with the construction, as well as the furnishing, of the 80 bed Long Term Care facility, which is attached to the hospital. In addition, it was instrumental in funding the construction of the Long Term Care facility’s Healing Garden and the installation of the ambulance door and handicapped accessible doors for the hospital. The Foundation sponsors at least two larger fundraisers each year, the Holiday Festival and generally the golf tournament. During 2022, the Foundation secured funding to purchase a 3D mammography, stress test machine, new dining room tables for the Long Term Care, leg press, and an omni cycle.

How can I help?

The Foundation holds different fundraising events throughout the year and your participation and support of those events is greatly appreciated. Support of the Foundation may also be provided in the following ways:

  • Memorials
We accept memorials and recognize both the gift “In memory of…” and the giver.

  • Estate Planning
We are able to provide an expert estate planner as an advisor or we can work with your own professional to help provide maximum tax benefits, as well as a gift to the Foundation.

  • One-Time Gift
Appreciated stock, livestock, grain, insurance policy, cash and more are all possible ways to give.
