Winner Regional Foundation Awards Scholarships to Two Outstanding Students

The Winner Regional Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of this year’s $2,500 healthcare scholarships: Addison Heenan and Gracie Root, both graduating seniors from Winner High School. These scholarships recognize students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, community involvement, and a passion for pursuing careers in healthcare.
Addison Heenan
Addison Heenan will graduate from Winner High School with an impressive 4.036 GPA and plans to attend the University of South Dakota to pursue a degree in Nursing.
Throughout high school, Addison has shown a strong commitment to healthcare and serving others. She has been actively involved as a Tripp County Ambulance Cadet, gaining valuable firsthand experience in emergency medical services and patient care. She has also participated in HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), further developing her knowledge and passion for the medical field.
Gracie Root
Gracie Root will graduate from Winner High School with a 4.02 GPA and plans to attend the University of South Dakota to study Speech Pathology.
Gracie has already shown a strong commitment to healthcare through her work at Winner Regional Long Term Care, where she has been employed for the past two years. During that time, she has provided compassionate care and support to residents while gaining valuable experience in the healthcare environment.
In addition to her work experience, Gracie has been actively involved in community service efforts, including fundraising for the Children’s Miracle Network and participating in blood drives.

The Winner Regional Foundation scholarship program was established to support local students pursuing careers in healthcare and to encourage the next generation of medical professionals. Both Addison and Gracie exemplify the values of compassion, service, and excellence that are central to healthcare careers.
