A note from Ari Albright, Director of Creative Care, LLC.:
As the project manager and curator for the Winner Regional Health (WRH) Refresh Project, which began in November 2023, we are thrilled with the positive reception to our efforts to enhance the atmosphere at the Winner Regional Long-Term Care facility. Collaborating with Amanda Soesbe, Monica Metzger, and Keshia Bauer, our committee received over 220 submissions from more than 20 talented community members and staff. After thoughtful review, the WRH selection committee chose 58 photographs to be printed on aluminum and installed in early August. The goal was to create a more inviting and comforting environment for residents, families and staff by incorporating local art images  with the facility's new wall colors, flooring, and lighting treatments. Visitors might notice ranch scenes and cattle from area ranches in a unit, local birds near the nurses' station, and a curious raccoon in an office. The hallways feature images of sunsets, sun dogs, flowers, lakes, and landscapes. Another main walkway showcases scenes of patriotism and Native American heritage, while the dining room highlights the community's agricultural roots with fields, tractors, and farm implements. This project has truly transformed the facility into a welcoming space, and I’m grateful to all the artists—both staff and community members—who contributed their creativity to this initiative. It has been a joy. Thank you!
